100hr Fuel Moisture vs ERC
Technical Details
This graphic is an attempt to show the relative severity of fire conditions across the state. The vertical axis is the latest observed 100 hour fuel moisture normalized for each location as a percentage of the difference between saturation and the lowest 100hr fuel moisture ever recorded for that area during the period of record.

The horizontal axis is the latest ERC value normalized as a percentage of the highest ERC ever observed for that location for the period of record.

One caution: The period of record is relatively short, generally going back to just 1995.

In general, a value higher and farther to the right indicates potentially more severe fire conditions than a value lower and to the left.

Note that the values for 100hr fuel moisture and ERC are the weighted average values also used for ODF's Significant Fire Potential Map (available here).
